REFLECTIONS
What do we truly see when we gaze into a mirror or the still surface of water--just a tree, some leaves, birds, and an insect, or is there something more elusive beneath? What is seen seems simple, but it is not. There is always a deeper meaning to something. The reflection might show the physical word, yet at the same time it invites us to question our perspective are we observing nature or is nature reflecting something within us.
shadows
How can I make shadows become fears? Shadows have long been symbols of mystery, often associated with the unseen. What is hiding behind a person's shadow? Could it be that shadows represent the parts of ourselves that we choose to suppress. I want the viewer to feel uncomfortable and unsettle. I want them to reflect on their own shadow.
